~LEGIO PATRIA NOSTRA~ Legionnaires, known for toughness and dogged determination have produced a sustained record of combat performance since 1831 and up to the present time. Some of that credit is certainly due to the tradition of selecting the best men for a job. About 60% of its members are foreign volunteers who, upon joining, swear an oath of allegiance to the legion but not to France.
